Calum Hood

 

Calum Thomas Hood (born January 25, 1996) grew up with his parents, Joy and David, and his older sister, Mali-Koa.

In school, he loved P.E. and music, and found music class to be a bit of an escape. He considered playing football (soccer) professionally and was attending school on a sports scholarship, but he left the team to pursue music.

Calum was the first in the band to start song writing, which influenced the rest of them to give it a go. He also taught himself to play guitar when he was 15 – he watched YouTube videos and loved to play for his parents. He once said it was decided that he play bass in 5SOS because he “was least best at playing the guitar.”
